Active Health Online Classes

We have a wide range of online exercise classes aimed at older adults looking to improve their general fitness and health.
To participate you will require a tablet, smart phone or computer.

Workout Virtu-Plus- Monday- 1045-1215
This class offers a conditioning and toning workout, including adaptations, progressions, and regressions. Customers/participants in the class will ideally need a set of hand weights/dumbbells and a light to moderate resistance band (1.5m in length).

Parkinson’s Exercise- Tuesday- 1800-1845*
These classes have been created specifically for people with Parkinson’s and consist of functional exercises, some of which are chair-based, using a range of simple equipment.
*For newly diagnosed with only mild symptoms.

Friday 1015-1130

Strength & Balance Virtu-Plus- Friday- 1130-1245
This class is aimed at preventing falls, injuries, improving cognition and can help build your strength, balance and confidence.

 Dynamic Wellbeing -Monday- 1230-1330
Level 1 These classes are suitable for people with a range of health conditions including, but not limited to, people affected by cancer, chronic pain, type 2 diabetes, respiratory illness and neurological conditions. Please check the appropriate level of class at the time of booking.

The fee is £40 for the block or £7 per session and should be PAID IN ADVANCE,

either cash or a cheque made payable to ‘THE HIGHLAND COUNCIL’ to the Macphail Office.

 

Martin has been practising yoga since 1990 and became a qualified Iyengar Yoga teacher in 1997.  As a teacher member of Iyengar Yoga (UK) he is entitled to use the Iyengar Yoga Certification Mark which indicates that he is properly trained and qualified to teach yoga using the Iyengar method.  His classes are unsuitable for those who are pregnant.  If you have any medical conditions, please speak to him in person or telephone him on 01571 855 360.  Note that Yoga therapy is not undertaken in any of the classes.  More information at www.gorrell.co.uk
